WSH Performance Award Audit

The WSH (Workplace Safety and Health) Performance Award audit process involves a thorough evaluation of an organization’s safety and health management systems to ensure they meet the criteria for the award.

The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Performance Award recognizes organisations that have performed well in workplace safety and health through the implementation of sound safety and health management systems or processes. It acknowledges companies that have gone to extraordinary lengths to safeguard their employees and contractors across their worksites.

Key points of the audit process are:
  • The award recognizes companies with excellent WSH performance and strong safety and health management systems.
  • Construction, marine, and chemical/manufacturing industry applicants must achieve a minimum total element score based on the relevant industry checklist and undergo auditing by a Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC)-accredited auditing organization with MOM-approved WSH auditors.
  • Other industries may qualify by holding valid SAC-accredited ISO 45001 certification and/or bizSAFE STAR certification.
  • The audit includes document review, site inspection, and interviews with key personnel performed by MOM-approved auditors.
  • Auditors verify submitted reports and supporting documents, conduct workplace visits to confirm compliance, and review scores on the checklists.
  • All submitted evidence is verified, and the WSH Council cross-checks incident reports with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
  • The final evaluation includes verification of all documentation and possibly workplace visits before awarding the WSH Performance Award.
This process ensures that companies have robust WSH systems and continuous improvement in workplace safety and health management, underpinning the integrity of the award.
